WRITERS

Monalisa is an Atlanta-based writer originally from upstate New York. Inspired as a teenager by great writers such as Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Claude McKay, J. California Cooper, and Octavia E. Butler just to name a few, she aims to say something positive with her writing that evokes hope, determination, creativity, entertainment, smiles, laughter, tears, empathy, thought-provoking dialogues, and whatever else stirs the soul.  

 

Monalisa’s first book, Wildflower: Poems, Prose & Stories was published by Flip The Script Publishing LLC, a company that she started in 2021. 

 

In addition to writing, she enjoys reading, riding her motorcycle, instructing cardio kickboxing classes, traveling, spending time with her loved ones, and all things Prince.
